General Business for 2025 Annual Congregational Meeting

GENERAL BUSINESS FOR 2025 ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

The Glen Morris United Church (GMUC) Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on February 9, 2025 following a shortened worship service. This year there are two items of General Business that will be presented by the Official Board for consideration. These are:

1. An Investment Policy for the Church. This policy is now required by Regional Council. The policy was formulated by a joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and Committee of Stewards then approved by the Official Board at its meeting on November 25, 2024.

2. Multiple revisions to our church Governance Document.These revisions were proposed by the Executive Committee then approved at an Official Board meeting on September 23, 2024, with two further revisions adopted by the Official Board on Nov. 25, 2024.

Both of these items and a copy of the Governance Document with changes highlighted are attached at the bottom of this webpage.

I would encourage you to review these documents prior to the Annual Congregational Meeting.

Please note that amendments to these policies may be proposed at the Annual Congregational Meeting, however it would be helpful if those wishing to propose amendments would contact me in advance of the meeting.
