John Graham reports that he took all the items shown in the above photo that were collected from the 'It's Midnight Somewhere' Party to the Salvation Army Food Bank - thank you to everyone, and to Sue Harkness for the idea of these donations in lieu of payment for the delicious roast beef dinner provided by the Harkness family.
The following was received from the Salvation Army following our Community Christmas Hamper Program drive:
Dear Glen Morris United Church:
We would like to thank your for your continued support and wish you health and peace.
We have seen a significant increase of community members who were in need for Christmas.Your donation is very much appreciated and so generous. Your donation will help us to serve those children right here in our community, plus many other families with children over 14 years of age and families without children at all.
Your confidence in our work at the Christmas season is greatly appreciated. It is very comforting to know that our concern of restoring hope and dignity to the vulnerable is shared by partners like you.
We would like to express our appreciation and sincere thanks for your generosity. Be assured that your gift will assist people with compassionate care, motivated by the Salvation Army's mission, via soon and values.
Yours truly,
William Ratelband
