Dearest friends,

Last week’s worship service was such a powerful and beautiful way to say goodbye to our Wandering Hearts series. It’s not an easy subject to talk about: having doubts, getting things wrong when it comes to our faith, and just how hard it can be to journey in faith without always feeling like we have a charted path we’re following. I give thanks for Jesus who can always act as our North Star, helping us discern where to go next, even if it is only one step at a time.

During worship, I asked the people gathered: “If Peter came to you the night after he had betrayed Jesus three times, obviously upset about what he had done, what would you say to him?” Our answers were to offer compassion, empathy, and support. I hope you know that answer is just as true for you as it was for Peter - each one of us is so worthy of God’s grace and love. We can experience this grace and love through prayer and our own personal connections with God, and I think it is equally meaningful when we get to experience this through God at work in our community.

This next couple of weeks we will be having a couple of guest preachers - I’m sad that I will be away and missing out on hearing both Jayden and Joel but I’m very grateful you’ll be in such awesome company.

Just as the spring rain nourishes the soil, may the Peace of Christ invite growth within you this week,

Yours in Christ,

Rev Michiko
