'The Calm after the Storm' is the title of the photo above taken by Glen Morris resident and church member Kathy Marziano. Perhaps symbolic of where we may be heading with the pandemic, but nonetheless a beautiful shot of the Grand River in this village in July. Thank you Kathy!
Although we are hopeful of some form of reopening in September, we continue on zoom for the month of August, with the exception of September 5 on the Labour Day long weekend when we will have no worship service. Our good friend Adam Cresswell continues to share his leadership with us during this time as we all think of and pray for Meghan. The zoom link will remain the same for the month and we will continue with coffee time at 10am which is always a great way to connect, hear what's been happening for everyone and have a lot of fun too!
It's hard to believe we are half way through this summer and a lot of news regarding our renovation and reopening will be coming in Volume III of this newsletter with a sneak peek in this issue - it will all be very exciting to see our new 'digs' and see one another in person!
I do hope you're enjoying this wonderful summer that is gradually opening up allowing us to once again visit with friends and family - and have a social calendar!!
Revel in Summer
Dear God,
Let us revel in summer.
Let us soak up the long days and warm sun.
May our feet walk on sandy beaches and our heads rest on thick grass under blue skies.
May we listen to and marvel at the singing of the birds and stop to watch blissful children at play
This summer, God, may our breathing slow and our hearts open. God help us to be present to all that is so that we might best see all that might be.
