Margaret (Walker) Fleury was raised on a farm on the East River Road about 5 minutes from Glen Morris. She was baptised in the Glen Morris United Church, attended Sunday School here, and sang in the choir. Margaret has an Honours Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Education degree from Toronto. She taught instrumental music and English at Ancaster High and Vocational School for 10 years then she and her husband, Leon, moved to Matheson in Northern Ontario. During the next 22 years, Margaret taught at Iroquois Falls Secondary School then became Principal and finally Superintendent of Schools for District School Board Ontario North East. Upon retirement in 2007, Margaret and Leon moved back to the East River Road and built a home on her maternal grandparents’ farm, next to the farm where she grew up. In February, 2009, Margaret started playing the piano at the church and has been volunteering ever since
