Our beautiful renovations were created in 3 phases and were completed as of September 2021. It has been an amazing journey with much hard work and planning by many in this faith community.
We have done a large amount of fundraising but in recognizing the impact this renovation will have on generations to come, are now offering an opportunity for you and/or your family to be a visible part of ongoing fundraising with our Vision Tree, which is showcased in our new Heritage Room.
Designed by Glen Morris United Church member Suzanne Crichton, the Vision Tree offers an opportunity to donate in several ways.
Suzanne shares that "leaves are seasonal, but essential for the light they absorb for the plant on which they flutter. That plant is the faith structure, a tree of community, sprung of a vision from those before us and planted on land that is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Attawandaron (Neutral) Peoples." Those named on the “leaves” may make financial contributions in support of our church renovations in whatever amount they would like.
Donations of $500 or more are designed to commemorate those who have gone before us, those who have been involved in this faith community, and are honoured as “rocks,” the foundation at the base of the tree. Anyone is welcome to make a donation to recognize a family or family member who was involved in Glen Morris United Church. As well, if you would like to share information about your family/family member, we will add it to a special page on this website to honour those who have been a part of the history of this church.
All contributions are most gratefully received.
Donation forms are attached at the bottom of this page and may be downloaded for printing and emailed/mailed to the corresponding addresses.
