This workshop is for beginner weavers, with no or little experience weaving.
During this beginner class you will learn the basic techniques to make a traditional round stake and strand basket: the 4x4 base slath, twining, waling, and trac border.

We will also talk about how to prepare willow for weaving and how to select the appropriate sizes of willow for the different parts of the basket.

The finished basket will be approximately 7" in diameter and 4"  in height. Time permitting, we may be able to add small handles or bark details.

The workshop location is the Robson Community Room, Glen Morris United Church at 453 East River Road, Glen Morris.

Parking available across the street from the site. Room is air conditioned, kitchen and bathrooms next to our weaving area. Bring your own lunch!
