On February 13, in advance of our worship and annual general meeting at GMUC, I requested volunteers to join our working group in preparing  the congregational profile as required before pastoral charges can proceed with forming a search committee.   Before our service was complete I had received two eager volunteers ( Jen Westbrook and Leanne Ziler ) to join our group with fresh eyes and open ears.

As Glen Morris United Church prepares to search for a new minister there are several pieces of information that need to be gathered and updated so that our congregational profile is current on the web based service “Church Hub” where all postings in Canada are made available to prospective new hires.  This profile tells the story of who we are, how we are and how we hope to be in the future.  It is a chance to share stories of our heritage, our demographics in the community, our finances and our general state of health as a congregation.

There is some urgency to complete this work as we look to hire a full time minister as soon as is practical.  Considering that common courtesy would require a notice period for any person leaving a post to join us in the Glen, it is fair to hope we will get this approved asap.

The package will need to be approved at a special congregational meeting and then forwarded to our district council for acceptance.  It can then be posted to Church Hub and we will also then have permission to create a search committee.

If you are interested in being part of the search committee, please contact me:

This is a very rewarding task in the life of our church and I assure you that your involvement will be rewarding, appreciated and enlightening.
