Dear Beloved Passing the Peace Readers,
This past summer when I first moved into the Glen, I was very tired and hungry from unpacking and decided to make my way over to the Riverbend Grillhouse to grab something to eat. After spending ten years living in Toronto, I never imagined walking into a pub where people made a point to figure out who you were and get to know your name. I’m glad I was there last Saturday to offer a farewell toast to the Riverbend and see the place filled to the brim with so much energy.
I learned a thing or two about being a good neighbour from that place and I’m grateful for that. I’m certainly going to miss that patio when the warm summer weather rolls around but I’m also looking forward to figuring out new ways we can come together as a community in the Glen moving forward.
For those of you who read this newsletter and were more likely to see me at the Riverbend than church on Sunday morning, please know you are more than welcome to be in touch at any time!
And on this St Paddy’s Day, allow me to offer you an Irish blessing:
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of Their hand.
Peace be with you!
Yours in Christ,
Rev Michiko
