Dear Glen Morris United,
Peace be with you! Thank you all so much to those of you who offered well wishes for my travels to Belgium last week. What an incredible experience to join 32 dancers from around the world to perform with a live pipe band to a full stadium. I have returned very tired but proud and grateful for this challenging experience that included full day rehearsals and three performances in one weekend. If you would like to see one of the dances I performed you can visit the International Tattoo Dance Team on Facebook: https://fb.watch/nF99hSDJun/
As I was boarding my flight home on Monday morning, the high of performing in the tattoo was met with the low of looking up and noticing all flights to Tel Aviv were canceled. I had been busy dancing and hadn’t had a chance to keep up with the news about the recent escalation of conflict in Palestine and Israel. As someone who has been part of many communities over the years that are dedicated to justice and peace in Israel and Palestine, it’s so heartbreaking to see so much pain, anger, and fear knowing that there are so many peacemakers who have worked and prayed for something like this to never happen. Please join me in praying for peace. May the peace of Christ be with you,
May the peace of Christ hold together all that feels fracture by conflict,
May the peace of Christ invite us all into playing our part in making the world free of all wars,
Yours in Christ,
Rev Michiko
